THE LAND TELLS A STORY

The Reserve

West Coast Private Game Reserve was established in October 2024 as a collaboration between conservation minded farmers in the area. The Game reserve borders West Coast National Park to the North and the Ocean to the west.

The vegetation and landscape changes towards the east covering 3 west coast biomes. Closest to the beach, the area consists of Langebaan Dune Strandveld, which turns into Saldhana flats Strandveld and then turns into Hopefield Sand Fynbos, with Pincushions and Proteas earmarking the transition.

The salt pans in the area add striking features to the landscape and allow for seasonal wetlands to develop attracting a myriad of birds.

Our Wildlife

The reserve offers visitors a chance to see some of the amazing wildlife indigenous to the western cape. Besides iconic safari animals such as Giraffe, Zebra and Wildebeest, the reserve is the home of 8 Antelope species, from the largest Eland to the elusive Steenbok.

BRINGING THE COLOUR

West Coast Flowers

The West Coast is renowned for its variety and splendour of flowers, in late winter and spring. From August to October the reserve pops with colour, signalling the joy of an oncoming summer. Our reserve allows our guests to walk safely and take in the first signs of spring up close.
